UK’s NEW ‘National Register of Recruiters’ supported by Government

Not-for-profit body, the Institute of Recruiters (IOR), has launched the UK’s National Register of Recruiters, a free-to-list register of UK recruitment firms, increasing their visibility to employers and candidates by ensuring they appear in more online search results. Agencies are being urged not to miss out on opportunities the register will offer as definitive guide to UK recruiters.

The register will be heavily marketed to job seekers, employers and government as a central point to source recruiting firms that meet their needs. With over 75% of hires being driven by internet activity, the register will boost online visibility and reach to the listed recruitment agencies, as well as providing them with huge added potential to attract new customers and candidates, a powerful addition to their online marketing strategies.

Steve Keeler, Head of Government’s ‘Employment Agencies Standards Inspectorate’ (EAS) said:
“BIS/EAS works with all stakeholders in the recruitment sector to ensure compliance with legal obligations. IOR’s National Register of Recruiters should increase awareness of the statutory requirements for recruiters, which is something we support”.

I am at my most animated when watching a great game of rugby or watching Ed Balls being interviewed. The crisis at Lloyds Banking Group last week, when it was suddenly announced that new chief executive Antonio Horta-Osorio was to take a leave of absence at the insistence of his doctors because of a stress-related illness, once again highlights the PR benefits of having a well-thought out and well-communicated crisis plan in place. Unfortunately Read more

(NB: This is a true story, only names have been hidden to protect the innocent) One day, on a rainy spring afternoon in London, ten and a half years ago, two men attended a seminar for budding recruitment business owners… They were very much alike, these two men. Both wanted to make a difference in Read more
